Mother to 5 Finishes School Free With Grant for Financial Aid

February 1st, 2010

A few years ago I started to finish getting my education by getting financial aid. I applied for and got a pell grant. At the time it was me and my 2 oldest kids. The youngest started kinder garden so i thought it was time to make an example of myself and finish up my school.

I searched the Internet for a Pell grant and how to apply. I was surprised at how easy it was, I applied on line, for free and the school received the grant directly. I signed up for 4 classes at a community college. The grant that I received was enough to cover my class cost, my books, and I had plenty left over to help with covering some child care for my kids so I could have extra study time.

I was only able to finish 1 semester at that time because life happens. I had 3 more children and got remarried, not in that order! But that is a good helping of life! Now, 8 years later I think its time I go again! My smallest young one is only 2 right now so I have a full 3 years before he goes to school. I dont want to be in a classroom while he is still so young. I did some research and found out that I can take video classes at home from the same school that I was going to before!

Can you believe that? I don’t have to find some online accredited school? That is right I can attend the same local school and on line video courses from home. How wonderful! I can be with my little man and go to my classes after he’s in bed for the night or during nap time during the day. Everything is online! There is a forum, and discussion board to communicate with your teacher and class mates. At most I’ll have to drive to the campus once or twice. Everything else is at home! And whats better still is that these online courses will be covered by the same grant that covered my classes the first time, the pell grant!

If I could give advise to anyone that is waiting until their children are in school to start is, why wait? Go ahead and call local schools around you and see what the options are for video courses. To my understanding the classes are exactly the same as the on campus classes. The credits are the same, and I can do them classes when its convenient for me.

So now when he starts Kindergarten, instead of me saying as soon as he starts school I’ll go back to school, now I can say that when he starts school I’ll be starting my new job because I was able to finish my school at home, and use the grant to cover the fees.

I am a stay at home mom of 5 kids, all but one is in school. I found some greatfree grant information about getting a federal grant to cover my expenses to finish school. Anyone can, look here for information today!

CompTIA IT Courses In Your Own Home Considered

January 25th, 2010

Without a continuous flood of knowledgeable network and PC support personnel, commercial enterprise throughout the country (along with most other places) could well be brought to its knees. We have a constantly increasing demand for people to support both the systems and the users themselves. As our society becomes growingly beholden to computers and networks, we simultaneously inevitably become increasingly more reliant upon the well trained IT professionals, who ensure the systems function properly.

‘Exam Guarantees’ are often bundled with training offers – they always involve paying for the exam fees up-front, before you’ve even made a start on the course. Before you get carried away with guaranteed exams, be aware of the facts:

Everyone knows they’re still being charged for it – it’s quite obvious to see that it’s already in the overall price charged by the training provider. It’s absolutely not free – don’t think these companies are so generous with their money!

Students who take exams one at a time, paying for them just before taking them are in a much stronger position to qualify at the first attempt. They’re aware of the cost and prepare more appropriately to be ready for the task.

Isn’t it outrageous to have to pay the training college in advance for examinations? Find the best deal you can at the time, don’t pay mark-ups – and take it closer to home – instead of miles away at the college’s beck and call.

Huge profits are made by a significant number of organisations who incorporate exam fees into the cost of the course. Many students don’t take them for one reason or another and so the company is quids-in. Surprising as it sounds, providers exist that actually bank on it – as that’s how they make a lot of their profit.

It’s worth noting, in the majority of cases of ‘exam guarantees’ – you are not in control of when you can re-take the exam. Subsequent exam attempts are only authorised at the company’s say so.

Splashing out often many hundreds of pounds extra on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is remiss – when hard work, commitment and the right preparation via exam simulations is what will really see you through.

A so-called advisor who doesn’t question you thoroughly – it’s likely they’re actually nothing more than a salesman. If they’re pushing towards a particular product before getting to know your background and current experience level, then you know it’s true.

In some circumstances, the training start-point for someone experienced in some areas will be substantially different to the student with none.

If you’re a student commencing IT study from scratch, it can be useful to ease in gradually, kicking off with some basic user skills first. Usually this is packaged with most training packages.

It’s clear nowadays: There really is very little evidence of individual job security now; there can only be industry or sector security – companies can just fire a solitary member of staff whenever it suits the company’s business needs.

We can however hit upon market-level security, by searching for areas in high demand, together with a lack of qualified workers.

The 2006 national e-Skills study demonstrated that 26 percent of computing and IT jobs remain unfilled because of a huge deficit of appropriately certified professionals. Meaning that for every 4 jobs that exist throughout the computer industry, there are barely three qualified workers to fulfil that role.

Appropriately qualified and commercially grounded new employees are thus at a total premium, and it’s estimated to remain so for many years longer.

Without a doubt, this really is such a perfect time for retraining into the IT industry.

You should only consider retraining paths that progress to commercially recognised certifications. There are far too many trainers pushing their own ‘in-house’ certificates that are essentially useless in today’s commercial market.

You’ll discover that only industry recognised accreditation from the major players like Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe and Cisco will open the doors to employers.

Meet the new givers – BOGO and B1G1

January 22nd, 2010

Definitions of words often change quite quickly these days. In the distant past the meaning of words was often set in stone. Today the meaning can change in a blink. With new faster ways to communicate with wider and more culturally, socially and education

There’s a significant global movement happening where consumers are asking business to take care of the things they care about such as the less fortunate in society and the environment. The request is mainly tacit and despite it being an ironic request it by far indicates still that we are in a time of vast change. Consumers these days want their cake and eat it. They not only want cheap products, they also want the environment to be preserved and they want workers to be well looked after.

There does not seem to be an answer to this conundrum and yet one does exist. It exists in the recoining or reforging of a single word. This word is a simple one – GET. Today, new movements of people who want to get but give at the same time are reforging it. It is being transformed into the word GIVE.

Every day I receive a notice from Google Alerts for two words – B1G1 and BOGO. It tells me all the new places that these words are being used on the Internet. I can now see that the new meaning of these words is coming alive ‘poco a poco’ [Italian: poco, little + a, by + poco, little].

B1G1 and BOGO, despite sounding like characters from a Marvel comic are acronyms for Buy One GET One free. You buy one and they give you an extra one for the same price.

Look up BOGO on Wikipedia.com (there isn’t a definition yet for B1G1) and you will discover these definitions for BOGO:

* An acronym in the retail industry that stands for Buy One Get One. For example, you could say “Buy 1 DVD, Get 1 FREE!

* An acronym in slang British that stands for Britons Of Greek Origin or Greek Britons.

* Bogo, Cebu, a city in central Philippines.

* An alternate name for the Bilen ethnic group of Ethiopia or their language, Blin.

* Norway, a village in Norway.

* The mascot of the ITESM CEM.

* BogoMips, an unscientific measurement of CPU speed

* BogoMips, an unscientific measurement of CPU speed

BOGO Lights – torches that give

There is an organisation in the USA called SunLight Solar founded by a gentleman called Mark Bent. He has created a special torch that not only is an amazing and robust solar-powered light; his company also gives a free torch to a family in need in developing nations for each one purchased. If you look on their website you will learn about their “BOGOlight”.

“The BoGo – our Buy one/Give one – program has successfully provided lights to many, many thousands of people in the developing world, changing lives because of your purchase and participation.” – BOGOlight.com

Mark Bent has managed to flip the meaning of the BOGO acronym upside down. For Mark along with thousands of his customers, BOGO now means Buy One GIVE One. A light is given whenever one is sold. Now each sale supports people in remote parts of the world who don’t have the benefit of electricity. They can now tap into solar power support themselves.

There are many other well known and less well know businesses now doing Buy One Give One giving or transactional giving as it is becoming known. Some of the famous ones are One-Laptop-Per-Child (OLPC) and TOM’S Shoes. Some of the less well-known ones (in the USA at least) are based in New Zealand, Australia and the UK – Earthstar Publishing, Maple Muesli, Blinds Couture, Figure 8 Body Chains, Sunsplash Homes, Honestly Women magazine and Thavibu Gallery based in Thailand are just a handful of special businesses that are heading the Buy One Give One movement.

Many Buy One Give One businesses are coming together under the single brand banner of Buy1GIVE1; a Singaporean based social enterprise which is becoming the home of transaction based giving. Any business can now choose to be part of Buy One Give One giving with ease. It’s like a CSR ‘plug-in’ to allow a business to start giving from each and every sale today – starting from just one cent. It is now not even a matter of giving an equivalent product to someone else. Instead it is about giving to a charity project that is in resonance with a company’s business activity. For example a magazine publisher cannot support the planting of a tree every time they sell a subscription, a restaurant can feed a child for each meal sold, a TV store can gift a cataract blind person with the gift of sight (Get Vision-Give Vision), and a builder or property developer can build a budget home for those in need who have lost their homes in a disaster (Buy1BUILD1) – the list is only limited by imagination.

Something special is happening these days as more and more people are switching onto giving and ‘citizen brands’ as a part of their everyday experience. The 2008 Edelman Goodpurpose global study of consumer attitudes reveal that almost seven in 10 (68%) consumers would choose to remain loyal to a brand during a recession if it supports a good cause, and 71% say that when they think about the economic downturn, they have either given the same or more time and money to good causes. This very same study highlighted some other major things as well like:

* 52% of consumers globally are more likely to recommend a brand to others when it supports a good charity cause over one that doesn’t.

* and 54% would champion a brand to promote a product if there was a good cause behind it.

* Consumers are now voicing a clear desire for marketers to associate their brands to social causes. 42% say that if two products or services were of a similar quality and price, commitment to a cause outranks factors like innovation, design and brand loyalty when selecting one brand over another.

Turning Getting into Giving

The new concept of Buy One GIVE One is starting to replace Buy One GET One as the global giving movement led by Buy1GIVE1 ripples out. Right now if you search for the terms B1G1 and BOGO you will find that websites that do Buy1-Give1 giving are on the first page of Google results. Certainly with the large consumer demand shown for products from companies like TOMS Shoes, BOGO lights and OLPC – One Laptop Per Child, this tide is set to continue and spread.

I did a recent Google search to find the 25 top key words associated with the keyword BOGO. The results were very interesting in that none of them currently contained the word Give. I have displayed the results below. It will be interested to repeat this test in twelve months time and see what changes. Consumers are starting to drive major change and despite still wanting to receive free gifts (as in traditional B1G1/BOGO), they equally want to help others and the environment. This sentiment is validated by the 2008 Goodpurpose global study.

Here are the search results:

Free, networking, boots, groups, music, dallas, togo themes, wallpapers, buy, applications, skins, values, coupon, African, gift, photography, blogging, discount, sharing, shopping, pics, join, prose

Transaction-based or transactional giving

Unlike traditional charity giving, Buy One Give One giving is transactional in that every time you buy something, you give something. In the case of SunNight Solar they happen to give a physical light for every light sold. However, in most cases, Buy1GIVE1 associated businesses give in a different way. At Buy1GIVE1, giving can start from just USD 1c contribution per sale and go up to thousands of dollars in the case of Buy1BUILD1. At 1cent almost every business in the world can afford to give from each sale especially when they know 100% contributed goes to the cause.

The amount of money that is contributed isn’t the focus with Buy1GIVE1 transaction based giving. The focus instead is on the story and sharing the simple joy of giving. After all, if you think that 1c isn’t a lot to give and would not make much of a difference think again.

From its origins in Ethiopia, where the main coffee production is still from wild coffee tree forests, coffee consumption has spread globally. Brazil is still by far the largest coffee producer in the world producing on average 28% of the world’s total coffee. In 2006 Brazil produced enough coffee to make 216,400,000,000 (216 billion four hundred million) espresso coffees. If we were to calculate across global production then we get a daily global consumption of around 2,117,416,830 cups of coffee – wow. The figures are somewhat hard to track down but let’s guess that 40% of the world’s coffee is sold and consumed in coffee shops then we would get that 846,966,732 cups are sold commercially each day globally – nearly 900 million. This would equate to about’5,485,714 cups in the US on its own seeing they purchase around 21% of the world’s coffee.

If we considered the impact of the coffee industry alone taking up Buy1-Give1, imagine now that for every cup of coffee sold a child in a developing region like Sub-Sahara Africa received clean drinking water from a well and it only costing 1cent to do this. Surely any coffee shop could afford to contribute this amount from the sale of a single cup of coffee. Imagine the different that this one action alone would make in the world.

Transactional giving is the story of the thousand-mile journey starting with that first single step. Digging a well costs a few thousand dollars so it’s a big barrier for communities in developing nations. However if you break the cost down it only takes the sale of a cup of coffee to give clean water to a single person for a day1. This is the power of transactional giving. It is like the compound interest of giving – a little turns into a lot very quickly.

Of course any company can do transaction-based giving with any of its products or services and do it on their own as some are like TESCO in the UK giving school uniforms to kids in Africa in partnership with Save the Children. And yet if companies choose to join together under a commonly recognised banner/brand they can have a powerful effect. The ripple that a single company creates is added to that of another and the ripple grows into a tidal wave of giving. This is the power of giving and doing things together.

Everyone wins with Buy One Give One transaction based giving. The consumer wins – at no extra cost to themselves they have made a difference through their purchasing choices. The business wins in so many ways. And of course the charity cause wins because they are now able to receive small amounts from numerous sources aggregated and paid in a lump sum by Buy1GIVE1.

A new start – a new world – new thinking

If you go right now and check Wikipedia.com for the word BOGO you should find that a new definition has been added. And soon B1G1 will be added. It is time for a sea-change – a change from the focus on GETTING to focusing on GIVING. I personally added a small addition to Wikipedia’s BOGO definition that says this: “… an acronym in the marketing industry that stands for Buy One GIVE One.”

Just imagine our world where every time you shopped and bought something you gave something – automatically and seamlessly. This is the simple joyful magic of transaction based giving.

This is the world I choose to be a part of.

And remember – you don’t ‘get’ giving till you get giving.

What Your Body And Soul Need

January 18th, 2010

As the proverb goes, health is wealth. And in this instance we are talking about the wealth of the human spirit. Good food is necessary for our health because our body is able to absorb its full nutrients – it is exactly so with our life. When we accept life in its sum total, relishing all its phenomena and sensations, our soul will be able to imbibe its entire range of ‘nutrients’, comprehending the full meaning of our existence, and letting us live our life to the utmost. Masami Sato shares the secret of living a full life in this excerpt from her latest book, ONE.

Why is it many of us (in fact, most of us) occasionally experience some kind of empty feeling in our life? It is like being hungry. When we eat, we feel satisfied and become less interested in food. But as some time passes, we get hungry again. Then all of a sudden we feel so attracted to the smell and thought of food. We can also feel some kind of hunger when we are not even physically hungry-just after eating something. Some of us stay being hungry all the time.

Constant emotional hunger is not the most pleasant thing to have. Then, how can we live our lives to the fullest? How can we be more satisfied permanently?

Maybe the answer is straightforward: just live our lives fully. The word ‘full’ holds the meaning of entirety. Then the secret to live a life in entirety is only to live it fully.

Let us commence by looking at a sample of this ‘fullness’ with something very close to our heart – our stomach.

Whole Food VS Part Food

We are used to the usage ‘whole food.’ People say that taking whole food is the secret to the vigour and wellbeing that we require. How is whole food better than ’semi food?’

A complete grain pulsates with a life of its own. If one keeps the complete grain in water, drains it off and keeps it for a few days, it germinates. It has got a full life. When we consume such an item, our body absorbs the full spectrum nourishment. It has the ability to clean, cure and nourish various body cells.

As in the example of a grain, most conventional dining includes having whole creatures as well. Having entire fresh fish used to be more popular than taking a portion of fish and throwing the balance away. It was ditto for poultry and also for vegetables.

‘Half food’ sometimes has more sweetness and flavour but not much other nutrition. We like its taste, but we could develop a long-term illness if we only ate ‘half food’ every day of our life.

So, to balance the missing part, we started to take dietary supplements. We have been studying and researching for a long time to find the perfect balance. It gets more and more complicated as we chop the food up, preserve and transport, and even try to balance with other parts coming from different sources, regions and seasons. Some of the nutrients even come from non-food items. They are chemically generated. After analysis and testing, we approve it for human consumption. But no matter how hard we try; we cannot put all the ‘bits’ together to make it come alive.

Half Life-’Sweetness’ of Life

So, if we perceive our life now, much of what we are doing can be similar to eating the ‘part food.’ Just enjoying the sugariness of life but jettisoning the real nutritious part. And if we put our ‘part life’ in water with other pieces and left it in the sunlight, could it germinate and grow into a beautiful complete life?

Whole food is not (as some people seem to believe) of a bland taste. In fact it tastes better if cooked properly. But as requirement is low, it is more costly. It is in reality more cost-effective in the long term though, as we will have to pay less as medical costs later on. When more people will start having it, it would automatically become less expensive as it is a simple food with less processing cost and waste.

Our life is identical. When we are only conscious of the ’sweet taste’ and discard the remainder into the dust bin because we do not realise its worth, we may be jettisoning the most important component. And that which we cast out could have the maximum power for the substantiation of our life and our financial system. It also needs more vigour and sources to throw it away. Better yet, that which we throw away comes at no cost.

So, what is that we are not looking at?

Imagine a life where we didn’t really feel we were missing anything there.

The secret is right there. The secret of a whole life.

Entire Life-The Complete Life

When it’s ‘whole’, it doesn’t matter how big the whole is. It can expand simultaneously. It can still contain all the elements to sustain itself as a whole living being. Once it grows to a certain size, it can still live without some of the parts. Like plants can live after being eaten a little by birds or trees still thrive even after losing their leaves. But if we neglect the balance for a very long time, eventually it can start creating a fatal imbalance. Then it could become too complicated to get back into balance.

We do not have to revert to Stone Age to find entirety. Entirety exists in the current. All we should do is watch intimately; watch intimately enough to actually see.

When we begin seeing our life in its fullness and stop casting out what nurtures our life the most, we start experiencing more and more satisfaction without looking for ‘things’ to fill the gaps and hollows of our life. Things finally fit into place. We now grasp the intricacies of our world in a completely different manner.

Yes, it is now time to find out how we can create (and see) this balance, continuously and sustainably.

The actual enriching part of our life is what makes us feel fine deep inside. It is like that portion of food that makes us hale and hearty in the final tally. Sensations we experience in our daily life are the real answer to our lasting joy. And there are sensations that make us feel more full.

The smiling visages we see when we acknowledge the merit of others. The happiness we feel when we give others gifts. The tenderness we feel when we see our children being happy. The motivation we get when we sense that our life is full of substance ..

Let us absorb these moments of our life wholeheartedly and savour the aroma of our full life. Then we will find how it is not obligatory to incessantly fill our heart (and belly!) with earthly satisfactions – those types of things that only add to our yearnings afterwards.

We can actually feel this joy, gratitude and love in order to experience the life as a whole at any moment regardless of the situations. It is not about what we see, what we hear or what we do that complete our life as a whole. It is about what we ‘choose to’ feel about our life.

Yes, our life indeed is already complete.

When we initiate taking actions based on this knowledge, we can have real control over the balance creation – enduring health, prosperity, enriching connection and delight.

The Secrets of Giving

January 17th, 2010

The secret of attaining what one wants has been revealed. It is just the simple act of giving. The basis of this is explained in the background of the classical dictum “Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?” Chicken and the egg, continuously forming the cycle of life and renewing it, is a profound example of giving and getting what one wants: the circle of joy. This idea is fully analyzed in the resonant voice of Masami Sato, the author of the book ONE.

As humans, most of us naturally have endless desires for all kinds of things. And of course, the traditional principals of economics tell us that while wants are unlimited, resources are limited. This induces us to think, the more and more resources we have, the more and more desires we will be able to fulfill. We become very protective of our resources. We then think sharing or giving these resources will reduce the portion that can be used to get what we want. This is the traditional win-lose game that is being played.

Then, is it true?

What if the answer was “no”? What if it actually contradicts the secret of getting more? What if the secret to get more is simple – by giving more?

You can get something simply by giving. Just like you can have eggs by breeding chickens. Just like that. Natural. Automatic. And it’s an absolutely joyful experience.

First, let us start with a small comparison to explain things.

Chicken and Egg: The Circle of Life

Philosophers have asked this question since the dawn of time, “Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?”

There is a simple answer to this unending doubt. It is that the question is unimportant, since both chicks and eggs are here now. Nevertheless, if one wants a greater effect, one can choose to start somewhere.

Giving and Taking: the Ring of Joy

What if we asked the question in a different manner? “Which comes first, giving or receiving?”

Again, for better results, we have to begin somewhere. Giving away things to others is definitely far simpler than attempting to get it first!

What happens if we are trying to get it first?

If we yearn to own something, naturally we would try to get it. And once we get it, we would try to hold on to it. This is absolutely normal – it does make sense logically.

But the real results of ‘trying to get’ are often not abundance and real long-term rewards.

For example, desiring to see others joyful is not about finding the joy from them or managing them to become happy. It is about how much pleasure we can give them and share with them. Period.

So how do we begin to get what we desire?

By starting from the reverse end – by giving generously!

When we give first before we actually fully have what we really want – what we dream of – we send a very powerful message to ourselves that says, “there is enough, and more will come”. It allows us to experience the joy today – the joy of giving.

All that is required of us is to give out the love in abundance to others. It would somehow come back to us. Giving love is the only way to be completely loved. When we recognize others for the big things they do and great credentials they have, again it would come back to us. Others accept us because we accept them.

In the same manner, if we want to have plenty in our life materially, financially, and mentally, we have to share in full measure with others, what we want.

Some would give more physically by giving their time. Some would give more financially by giving money away. The people who give more (time, money, kindness, love, ideas) have more of these things because that’s the balance. And balance is the natural law of life.

Remind oneself of the rules of the game.

One rule: never expect a return when we give.

When we have the conviction that giving has got as its inherent part, ‘getting’ something back, we become upset when do not see the return immediately. We may even feel a slight dissatisfaction towards the receiver of our gift. And surely, nurturing a bad feeling for someone is not a proper thing to do! So we can experience the real happiness of giving when we are doing something with the knowledge that we are doing it only for ourselves – we are doing it for our own happiness!

Losing to win, giving to get..

In the beginning it may appear that we are the losers. Still, at some level we realize that receiving things without giving anything is not a realistic life pattern. We have always been aware of it. That is the reason why giving away a part of their income has been a pattern with many well known people. And they have not done it openly, so it was not done to make themselves popular. It was just the way they wanted it to be.

Just take a look around. ‘Simple’ forms of life on the earth do it routinely. The bumblebees fertilize the flowers in return for the honey they take from them and ensure that the flowers bloom profusely. Habitually. That is the rule. They do not do it consciously. That is why they maintain nature’s balance, without even trying.

Giving to another is just a role of who we are, it is the same as having; nothing more, nothing less. No confusion, no strings attached, just letting go easily.

The essence of getting more can be stated in two steps: Give first, and do not expect to get anything in return.

When we let go and give wholeheartedly, what we need will be given to us. Automatically.

Consider Your Situation Before You Consolidate School Loans

December 4th, 2009

For many students obtaining student loans is as simple as clicking on a web site, filling out a form and waiting for the money to arrive at the university or in your checking account. That’s a simple solution to all of their financial woes. They never give a thought to paying back their loans until they get close to graduation day. Then they suddenly realize that six months after graduation they will be paying a large amount in loan repayments every month. At that point, the best solution may be to consolidate school loans.

There are only two ways that you can benefit from consolidating your school loans. You will have the opportunity to choose how you want to repay your loans, and the loans will be combined into one lower monthly payment. Loan consolidation will not benefit those who have the money to pay the loan payments separately.

Consolidation will help you if you are unable to make various loan payments with your salary now, or if there is the possibility that won’t be able to in the future. However, you must remember that loan consolidation will lower your payments, but you will pay much more in interest over the longer period of time it will take to repay the loan.

Students who have turned to private loans face a different situation. Unlike the fixed interest rate on federal loans, private loans have variable interest rates. Most students don’t have a high credit rating when they are in college so they end up paying higher interest rates on private loans. If they have been paying monthly payments on a credit card while going to college, their credit rating may have risen considerably, allowing them to get a loan with lower interest. If so, loan consolidation can save them a considerable amount of money.

Being able to remove the co-signer from their private loans is another big advantage of school loan consolidation. First the student has to prove that he is trustworthy by making his payments faithfully for 24 to 48 months.

Once you decide to consolidate your loans, look for a lender that won’t charge you an application fee or for paying off your loan early. Ask the lender what is the maximum amount of interest you will have to pay on the loan, and make a note of how long the loan is for.

Deciding whether or not you should consolidate school loans depends entirely upon your situation. If you have private loans to pay off, or if you are unable to pay off several loans at a time, then a loan consolidation will provide you with the help you need.

Now is the time to get a government student loan consolidation. Compare multiple student loan consolidation services and save.

December 4th, 2009

How well written the letters are and how much they reflect your personal and professional drive and history will play a big part in the decision making process.

The recommendation letter MBA is generally one of three or four major pieces of the overall MBA application process – along with the essays, interview, and GMAT. You should select someone that knows you well rather than trying to pick a high ranking officer in the company that doesn’t know you well at all. The letters need to highlight specific examples in great detail, so picking a direct supervisor is usually the safest bet.

The ABCs of Learning Management Systems

November 29th, 2009

It is an inevitable need nowadays to have all classrooms ready with equipment that will keep the youth informed of the latest technologies available to them. However, this should not be an excuse for most institutions to overspend and just go with the most famous alternatives. There are available learning management systems available nowadays, just like the one from Coggno that does not only guarantee quality, but can promise an outstanding effectiveness and cost-efficiency, too. With a name trusted worldwide, one can’t be wrong with the different tools they have to offer.

One of the main concerns when going for these technologies is cost – that is perfectly understandable most especially now that the world has just gone through a financial crisis. This could be a struggle for some educational institutions and schools located in far-flung districts.

Just like planning any momentous event, institutions would need to spend serious time planning for this venture that shall include talks about the needs of the school and the kind of technology it would require in order to meet its objectives.

The most overlooked category by most institutions entering into such venture is the capacity of their staff to understand and navigate new technology. In this case, the technology that must be adapted by an institution should be the most efficient and easiest to navigate.

One cannot question the benefits of moving into such great venture. Investing on these technologies does not only guarantee learning, but also makes the staff enjoy what they are doing. Creating different content gives the outmost satisfaction for facilitators and educators. Putting the one made by Coggno, their LMS integrates different interfaces into one great application, helping content developers make seamless programming and finish modules more efficiently. There are also exchange capabilities made ready by these LMS’s that makes knowledge exchanges faster and more possible.

You do not need to worry about maintaining a network or IT staff for Coggno’s LMS as everything can be done by anyone.

Different applications like Rapid Intake Unison and other applications make it possible for educators and content developers to create wonderful learning materials that enhance a students’ overall learning experience. Made possible by Coggno’s LMS, learning has never been more fun and productive.

With Coggno’s LMS, content and module development will be easy and seamless. Rapid Intake Unison has captured the best of Flash technology to create great content for everyone to utilize. No need to study Flash anymore. The same application can create good material without having to go through the rough roads just to learn Flash.

There is another interface called BB Flashback that enables the application to capture screenshots of someone’s desktop should there be a content available on the computer.

If cost is a concern, Coggno’s LMS should not contribute to this dilemma as it is on a pay-per-use basis and no deposits are required on initial usage. This is the only LMS interface that enables text editing, SCORM publishing, content developing and podcast producing at such a low cost.

Most institutions are afraid of entering into purchase agreements with penalties if terminated early. Just like a service contract, there could be fees involved if one is to enter onto these kinds of agreements.

There are times that you do not need to create content and therefore will not need an LMS. This is where pay-per-use systems can be of good benefit for institutions. You only pay for it when you need it.

There are no other strings attached – you only pay for it when you use it and when you need it. This is the perfect advantage need-basis Coggno LMS has to offer.

Conceptualize and distribute LMS Training to your organization’s employees through Coggno’s Learning Management System.
